REPSONSIBILITIES: The Art Department seeks to hire an Art Chair for Claflin University. Responsibilities will include: supervising and evaluating faculty, managing departmental budget, teaching Art courses, academic advising, research and grantsmanship, service to the University and community, scholarly research, and other professional and supervisory activities. Specialty in drawing, painting, ceramics, printmaking or sculpture preferred.
QUALIFICATIONS: The successful candidate must possess experience in college level teaching and advising and an MFA. Doctorate in an Art related field is strongly preferred.
Special Note: Effective January 1, 2011, all new hires must pass a criminal background check.
SALARY: Commensurate with experience.
