Interlibrary Loan

The Interlibrary Loan staff borrows books from other institutions for Library patrons if a book is not available at the Manning Library. The department is located on the main floor (Phone: (803) 535-5306). Also, as part of the Alliance 2020 project, students, faculty and staff at Claflin University, South Carolina State University and Orangeburg-Calhoun Technical College may borrow books from each other's library.

Use this form only if you are requesting a book(s), chapter of books, dissertations/theses, journal articles and conference proceedings.

For Book Request

Please search the Library catalog before placing a book request. Remember, your requested item could take up to two weeks for delivery. You will be notified when the item arrives or if we are unable to find a lender.

For Article Request

Please search the Electronic Resources before placing an article request. Remember, it may take up to 10 days for delivery. Depending upon delivery format, articles are sent via email or may be picked up from the library. Please call (803) 535-5306 if you have questions.

Journal Articles

The U.S. Copyright Law (U.S. Code, Title 17) governs the use of copyrighted materials.
Under certain conditions specified in the law, libraries and archives are authorized to furnish a photocopy or other reproduction. One of these specified conditions is that the photocopy or reproduction is not to be "used for any purpose other than private study, scholarship, or research." If the user makes a request for, or later uses, a photocopy or reproduction for purposes other than that of "fair use" that user may be liable for copyright infringement.
