Mr. Johnny Lowery
With an excellent record of teaching and corporate experience, Mr. Johnny Lowery cooperates with our business school to foster Claflin students as a visionary leader and provides his service to the fields of business, management, and entrepreneurship.
Mr. Johnny Lowery, a native of Philadelphia, MS, currently serves as Instructor of Management at Claflin University in Orangeburg, South Carolina, teaching business communications, organizational theory and behavior, and management information systems. Prior to entering academia, Mr. Lowery spent 12 years active duty in the United States Air Force and over 25 years in corporate America. His corporate experience includes several years in the poultry industry, holding positions in quality control, live production, and production management. He has also worked for the Mississippi Band of Choctaw Indians, which manufactured automobile components for bothFord Motor Company and General Motors Corporation.
Mr. Lowery later worked for many years in the quick service restaurant (QSR) industry, holding managing partner and supervising partner positions at both single-unit and multi-unit levels. Mr. Lowery is a member of the PhD Project, an organization founded upon the premise that advancements in workplace diversity could be propelled forward by increasing the diversity of business school faculty. He is also a member of the Academy of Management (AOM) and the Southern Management Association (SMA), where he served as a reviewer for journal article submissions.
