Claflin University is pleased to announce the appointment of Andrena Gaymon as director of special events.
Gaymon will be responsible for planning and implementing a multitude of University events and fundraising activities throughout the academic year.
Vice President for Institutional Advancement Rev. Whittaker V. Middleton said Gaymon will play a pivotal role in ensuring the University’s events are successful and memorable.
“The Division of Institutional Advancement and Claflin University as a whole will benefit enormously from Ms. Gaymon’s superb ability to plan and execute special events,” said Middleton. “She will be instrumental in putting on key fundraising events and continuing to place Claflin University in a positive light through the signature moments on our calendar.”
Gaymon is highly excited with her new position because of the team dynamic at the University as well as it prestige.
“My goal to plan outstanding events that will raise more funds for the institution while raising its profile,” said Gaymon. “I love the various avenues in which Claflin empowers our students and engages the community.”
Gaymon has an extensive background in both career counseling and planning large scale events. Previously, she was the job development coordinator at Spartanburg Community College where she constantly planned career workshops and job fairs for students. She was also the global career development facilitator for Greenville County Schools where she coordinator more than 20 events annually.
She has a meeting and event planning certificate from the University of North Carolina-Charlotte. Gaymon holds a Master of Education degree from Converse College and a Bachelor of Arts in media communications from the College of Charleston.
“I feel I bring a wealth of new and innovative strategies to the event planning apparatus of the institution,” said Gaymon. “And I am very confident in the team that will surround me in getting the job done on a daily basis for Claflin University.”
