  • Professional and Continuing Studies Offers Accelerated Degree Programs for Non-Traditional Students

    Since its inception in 1869, Claflin University has offered high-quality academic programs at its main campus in Orangeburg, S.C. Nearly a decade ago, the University’s Center of Professional and Continuing Studies (CPCS) began classes at Fort Jackson Army Base in Columbia. And in the fall of 2014, Claflin launched its online degree program, which provides students balancing families and careers the convenience of earning a Claflin degree without attending classes in Orangeburg or Ft.   • Claflin – Gammon Dinner Continues Historic Partnership

    Claflin University and the Gammon Theological Seminary continued its tradition of fellowship and support during the annual Claflin-Gammon Alumni Fellowship Dinner held Tuesday, June 9, in Florence, S.C. The dinner is held during the South Carolina United Methodist Church Annual Conference.

  • Claflin Student Athletes Lead All SIAC Schools With Six Team Academic Awards

    Claflin University captured six Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SIAC) team academic awards as announced during the 2015 SIAC General Assembly on Friday (May 5). The Panthers captured the team awards in softball, men's track, men's basketball, women's cross country, men's cross country and volleyball. The six team awards were the most of all SIAC institutions.

  • Six Claflin Students Selected For Summer Project In Puerto Rico

    Six Claflin University students will travel to Puerto Rico from June 17-27 for a project designed to improve their communications skills in Spanish while serving as goodwill ambassadors. The students will participate in the “Spanish Language Immersion/African Influence in Puerto Rican Language and Culture Project “headed by Dr. Jason Youngkeit, an assistant professor of Spanish at Claflin.

  • Claflin University Receives $30,000 UNCF/Mellon Faculty Teaching and Learning Grant

    Claflin University announces the receipt of a $30,000 Teaching and Learning Institute Grant from the United Negro College Fund (UNCF) and the Mellon Foundation. The award will be used for a three-day institute at Clafin on June 1- 3, that includes an interdisciplinary group of scholars from other UNCF institutions. The purpose of the institute is to prepare students at HBCUs (Historically Black Colleges and Universities) for global leadership through their engagement with world literature and culture.
