Brandyce Coes is going places after graduating Claflin University on May 12. She actually had her choice of a lot of places to attend pharmacy school. The University of Michigan wanted her and so did Auburn University. Nova Southeastern University was in the Coes sweepstakes as well.

Since opening in March 2010, the Claflin University Call Center has raised more than $228,000 dollars to support the University. Call Center Manager Marilyn Keenan says a large reason for this success is due to the nine graduating seniors who’ve worked the phones and provided student leadership for underclassmen.

Arien Atterberry, a soon-to-be Claflin University graduate, will literally be more than half a world away this fall teaching English to students in China.

The commonly used acronym “IDK” stands for the phase “I don’t know”. Graduating senior Jordan Coburn, the reigning Mr. Claflin 2011-2012, wants the people who wear his clothing line Ignorance Driven Knits –idk for short - to say that they do know about what’s going on in the world.

Students from Claflin University have raised $100,000 themselves in support of the institution’s $96.4 million capital campaign. Claflin student leaders made the benchmark official on Friday, April 27 by presenting President Dr. Henry N. Tisdale with a check.
