Claflin University alumni from around the world will assemble in Augusta, Georgia April 12-15 for the 38th Annual Claflin University International Alumni Association (CUIAA) Convention.
A staggering 45 percent of Claflin University’s alumni contributed to the Orangeburg, S.C. institution last year – which is the highest alumni giving rate among all Historically Black Colleges or Universities in the nation. The University has more than 200 alumni from the CRSA who continue to support Claflin.

In February, President Dr. Henry N. Tisdale and other Claflin University administrators traveled to India and Nepal with the desire to forge meaningful partnerships with those nation’s leading institutions of higher education.
When Tisdale arrived as president of Claflin 17 years ago, one of his primary aims was unapologetically simple – establish the University as a global institution. Now, the vision has become reality and Tisdale said the trip will expand Claflin’s footprint in the global educational arena.

Claflin University is set unveil a cultural explosion of art, dance, music, theatre and more with the third edition of CALA-Bash (Claflin’s Arts & Letters Annual Bash) April 8-18.
Patrons of CALA-Bash will have a diverse, entertaining menu of options during the week such as the Claflin University Theatre Ensemble’s rendition of the play “Steal Away”- the kick-off event to CALA-Bash - or The Ron McCurdy Quartet presenting The Langston Hughes Project.
