CLAFLIN LOSES BATTLE TO ALBANY STATE IN VOLLEYBALL

Orangeburg, SC-  Claflin University(10-8) (8-8) battled the league leading Lady Rams of Albany State before losing the four set match 21-25, 20-25, 25-21, 18-25.  After losing their last two matches Saturday to Clark-Atlanta and tonight’s match-up with Albany State, the Pantherettes will try to get back on track with a 2:00 pm. match at home facing the Lady Barons of Brewton Parker.

Latrice Lewis and Sabrina Garcia each recorded game high kills with 21 apiece.  Front court mate Priscila Sena  contributed 61 assists. Carolina Ribeiro came up with 24 digs for Albany State.

Leading the Pantherettes were Faith Simmons with 11 kills and Deisha Rivers with 10 kills.  Toi Haynes-Shelman contributed 33 assists, even after injuring her ankle in the second set.  Defensively Tashia Stewart led the way with 18 digs, while Deisha Rivers helped out with 15 digs of her own.
