CLAFLIN FALLS TO BREWTON PARKER

 

Orangeburg, SC- The Pantherettes of Claflin University lost a three set match to the Lady Barons of Brewton Parker College 19-25, 22-25, 18-25, in non-conference volleyball action Saturday afternoon, in the Jonas T. Kennedy Health and Physical Education Center.

 

The Lady Barons were led offensively by Jessica Hill with a game high 15 kills and Jeune Hypolite 11 kills.  With Bobbi Boyer issuing 33 assists.  Defensively Lindsey Mashburn had 11 digs as Emily Wood was credited with 5 blocks.

 

Faith Simmons led the Pantherettes attack with 10 kills, while Tashia Stewart ended up with 9 kills, and Toi Haynes-Shelman set up 24 assists.  Deisha Rivers had 8 digs and Imani Calhoun-Riley tallied 8 blocks for Claflin University. 

 

The Pantherettes will be idle until October 26, 2009 when the Lady Blue Bears of Livingstone College invade the Kennedy Center for a 6:00 pm. match.
