PANTHERETTES CRUISE PAST LADY BLUE BEARS

 

Orangeburg, SC- The Claflin University Pantherettes (11-9) easily defeated the Livingstone Lady Blue Bears of the CIAA in straight sets 25-17, 25-14, 25-21 in the Jonas T. Kennedy Health and Physical Education Center, on the Claflin University campus.  The Pantherettes have not played in 10 days, and needed this game to get some of the rust off, as the Pantherettes host the Tigerettes of Benedict College, Thursday evening at 6:00 pm. to wrap-up the regular season.  After Thursday’s contest the Pantherettes travel to Frankfort, KY, for the SIAC Volleyball Tournament, November 9-14.

The Lady Blue Bears were led by Lashaundra Ferguson, with a game high 14 kills.  Shannon Allen helped with 12 assists and 7 digs.

Deisha Rivers and Amani Calhoun-Riley tallied 8 kills each for Claflin.  Toi Hanyes-Shelman handed out 19 assists, as Faith Simmons added 4 service aces.
