The mission of the Student Government Association is to provide Claflin University Students with representation, services and advocacy within the University structure.
The student government association provides quality leadership for, and accountability to its constituency by recognizing that strength arises from diversity, engagement, and dialogue.
All students of Claflin University are encouraged to be active members of the Student Government Association. The office of the Student Government Association is located in Room 112 Campus Center. The role of this organization is to represent the students in matters relating to the general welfare of the student body in accordance with the powers invested in it by The College Administration and/or Board of Trustees. The Student Government Association is the official representative of the students and offers opportunities to share concerns, express opinions, jointly participate in the resolution of problems and make recommendations to the proper officials of the College. The Association and its representatives on committees provide students a role in institutional decision making.
