The Office of Institutional Effectiveness supports all university programs and services in ongoing assessment planning, data gathering, and evaluation of progress towards learning/performance outcomes.
The department promotes institutional excellence by providing timely and relevant information to support the mission, vision, guiding principles and strategic directions of the university.
The institution identifies expected outcomes, assesses the extent to which it achieves these outcomes, and provides evidence of improvement based on analysis of the results in each of the following areas: (Institutional Effectiveness)
The Office of Institutional Research and Assessment
This office provides information and assessment data for effective decision making. As Claflin University continues to be a data-driven institution, it is the goal of the division to ensure that current instruments and assessment processes are used to meet the inquiry and demands of each department.
Assessment/Evaluation
Design, administer, and analyze various instruments to assess institutional effectiveness.
Student Assessment
Oversee administration of various standardized assessments of student performance and achievement to ensure high academic standards, proper guidance, and effective evaluation to gauge student achievement against national norms.
Institutional Research
Provide analytical reports and data to support decision making, planning and evaluation.
Effectiveness/ Continuous Improvement
Lead service excellence initiatives to ensure a level of excellence in all university operations through university-wide communication, training and collaboration.
