Claflin University students are eagerly anticipating their spring break, scheduled from March 14-23.

Many believe the break is essential for their well-being, offering a pause from the demands of academic life.

"Spring break is definitely needed. We go through so much so fast throughout the year, and I think that week helps a lot of students mentally and even physically relax for a little," Grace Smith said. "It gives us something to look forward to."

Some students also emphasized the importance of keeping spring break rather than shortening the school year.

"I think shortening the school year would be pointless. Taking all of these courses for months straight with no break can be a lot on a student and could cause more dropouts due to stress," junior Jaasia Cooley said.

For others, the break serves as a necessary reset, allowing students to return refreshed and ready to complete the semester.

"I think the break is definitely useful. If we didn't have it, everything would be very fast-paced. We need it as a mental health week," senior Kaleil Johnson said.
