Claflin held its yearly Panther Prowl Aug. 20, introducing students to some of the clubs on campus.

The organization fair, held in the SRC quad in previous years, took place in the new student center ballroom.

Freshman biotechnology major Nigel Bradley said such events help him feel welcome at Claflin.

Bradley said the fair made the clubs “easily accessible.” Interested students could gain an overview and connect with the organizations before official interest meetings begin.

“I think that they did a great job and would make a lot of students want to join these types of organizations,” Bradley said.

The fair included displays of clubs focusing on special interests, skill building and service work.

Virginia White, president of rural health initiative CU Deep, said that the clubs are useful in maintaining a sense of community.

“The biggest benefit from being in a club like ours is opportunity, the ability to show empathy and care for the community and the campus around you,” the junior biology major said, “I think that’s beautiful.”
