Wes Guyton

From the stage to the shelves, Wes Guyton is the epitome of versatility.

From his involvement with the concert choir to his membership in Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity Inc. Omicron chapter, hard work is in his DNA.

Hailing from the city of North Augusta, this Claflin University senior is taking his success to another level. With his upbringing in the church, his peers have always valued him to solve problems and exude a positive presence.

“I do not take opportunities lightly. Whenever I perform or come across individuals, I present my best self, both as a strong growth mindset willing to learn. My enthusiasm and charisma are reasons why I am in the position I am today.”

But what has inspired Guyton to become an author?

In 2019, Guyton published his fictional book series “Magnet Man.” Magnet Man is a character Guyton created, bringing a new dynamic into the world of publishing.

“I wrote at a young age with an open mind, and like a sponge, I absorbed what I was watching or reading. Figures like Kobe Bryant, Chadwick Boseman and Jordan Peele all have different backgrounds but produce effective and standing works that last for generations. I want to do that for my stories.”

However, his aspirations don’t stop there.

Guyton also has goals of becoming a household name that will be known around the globe for producing. With his inspirations including Tyler Perry, Ave DuVernay and young producer Marsai Martin, Guyton has every intention of climbing higher heights.

“My vision will branch out to more demographics to add to the blockbusters that bring casting from various places worldwide. The company will become a conglomerate of talent that can make a global impact.”

While his impact is being seen right here in the local Orangeburg community already, it is only a matter of time before it is seen around the world.
