Creating & Editing Pages

Most of your site is composed of Page objects.  You can edit most existing pages’ primary content or add new pages from the Pages menu.

Accessing the Pages dashboard

From the top menu, click Pages. This will bring up a list of pages, sorted by page hierarchy; if you want to find a specific page, you can use the search bar towards the top of the page.  To edit an existing page, click on the name. If you want to create a new page instead, click Create a page at the top of the page.

Editing Pages

Editing an existing page or adding a new page will bring up the page editor. Most of the content displayed on the page can be edited on this screen, as well as settings such as the page URL, page template, and publish state.  Some key settings to take note of are:

Name

Use best practices to name pages effectively.  This title is used for both internal organization and the publicly-visible page title. Note that the page title will not populate on the page itself until the page is saved/published.

Template

Templates define the page layout can be assigned to pages at any time. There are a couple of different custom template options:

Interior - 2 Columns

This will be used on most pages of the website. It provides a main content area, an area for contact information, an area for full-width components, as well as a right column that houses the section navigation and callouts.

Interior - 2 Columns - No Title

The same template as Interior - 2 Columns just without the page title. This is used for the content type layouts.

It is important that you read the label of the content area that you are dragging widgets into to ensure that you're using the correct one.
